Lashing out at party over partymen culture in Indian politics, RTI activist and Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday questioned the basic idea of democracy.
Arvind Kejriwal tweeted on Thursday, "MPs do not have the freedom to speak or vote against wishes of Party High Command (PHC). Aren't MPs bonded labors of PHC?" @akparivartan
Commenting that India is a dictatorship of Party High Command between 2 elections, he added isn't Indian democracy "by the Party High Command (PHC), of the PHC, for the PHC"?'
Team Anna which had rejected the proposed Lokpal Bill by the government was higly dejected after the bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The bill is being debated today in the Rajya Sabha.
Accusing the Congress of playing smart Kejriwal said on Twitter, " BSP and SP walked out of Parliament to support Congress yesterday. Did Govt again misuse CBI to get their support? (sic)
The BSP and SP and RJD walked out of Lok Sabha on Wednesday before voting on Constitutional Amemdment Bill. Their absence facilitated the Congress in gaining the required numbers of votes for passage of Lokpal Bill.
Facing a cold response to his dharna politics in Mumbai, anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare and his team called off the three-day fast and the jail bharo movement on Wednesday. Hazare and his team however decided to stick to their opposition to the Congress-led UPA government despite the ruling combine having taken forward the lokpal, judicial accountability and whistleblowers bills separately that figured in Team Anna's wish list.
