Newly married SI returns home, shoots himself dead

A Delhi police sub-inspector, Vijay Singh shot himself dead at his Uttam Nagar residence in west Delhi on Friday night. Singh was posted at the Sarojini Nagar police station. HT reports.

So far the police haven't recovered a suicide not and as such the cause of Singh's suicide is not yet known.

Singh had joined Delhi police three years ago and had got married three months ago.

"He was living with his wife Poornima in the Mohan Garden area of Uttam Nagar. Singh had returned home around 8:30 in the evening after which he gone to the first floor of his house where he shot himself with his service revolver," said a senior police officer requesting anonymity.

Singh shot one bullet in his neck and was immediately rushed to Mata Chaman Devi hospital where he was declared dead.

Further investigations are on.
