The BSF on Monday said it has not carried out any construction activity along the Indo-Bangla border by taking the advantage of the Bangladesh Rifles mutiny.
Besides maintaining a tight vigil along the 4,095-km border with Bangladesh, the force was only carrying out its regular activities like patrolling, Border Security Force Director General M L Kumawat said.
Asked about questions being raised in a section of Bangladeshi media about certain activities carried out by the BSF, Kumawat said all such reports were nothing but "malicious and mischievous".
"All such reports that have appeared in the Bangladeshi media are malicious and mischievous. We vehemently deny conducting any such activities," he told PTI.
Making it clear that BSF has no intention of taking advantage of any situation in any neighbouring country, Kumawat said there was no iota of truth in the reports.
"Whatever little work has been going on along the border since long has nothing to do with the present situation in Bangladesh," he said adding "We have no intention to create disturbances".
The BDR guards last week had staged a dramatic mutiny at their headquarters in the heart of capital Dhaka and killing over 70 people including the superiors of the frontier guarding force.
