"Unless the DDA gives us more land, we cannot build a new structure," said Manish Gupta, Commissioner, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).

The three corporations are presently working on the construction of about 38 parking structures, announced under the unified MCD.

One of the biggest projects is the automatic multi-level parking at Kamla Nagar which is expected to be completed soon. Very few parking projects, including the ones at Hauz Khas and Parade Ground, were inaugurated in the last few months.

Many projects have been stuck for years due to land acquisition problems.
