In its tenure of almost four months, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons.
While former law minister Jitender Tomar has been arrested by police for forging documents, more than a dozen leaders, including 10 sitting MLAs, are under the scanner for various cases. Refuting all allegations, an AAP spokesperson accused the Centre of petty politics and said the cases were registered ‘under pressure’.
“This suggests a political vendetta against us. The Delhi Police are being used as a political weapon against the AAP, which is evident with the proceedings of the farmer suicide case. With the current situation we suspect many such similar instances to come forward in future, although we are prepared for them and will continue to fight for public cause,” said an AAP spokesperson.
