There is good news for vehicle owners in the National Capital.
Residents owning vehicles can now get their two/four wheelers authorised from respective authorities from the comfort of their homes with the click of a mouse by logging on to www.transport.delhigovt.nic.in.
In a bid to reduce inconvenience to vehicle owners in receiving authorisation card from respective zonal offices of the transport department and to make the system quicker and effective, the department has decided to introduce e-authorization card facility through its website.
Driver authorisation is a qualification a driver of a public passenger-service vehicle must attain and maintain to operate his/her automobile.
Delhi transport minister Ramakant Goswami inaugurated the service on Thursday. He asked all the permit holders of public service vehicles to generate e-authorization card of their drivers (each time the driver is changed) and display it inside the vehicle.
Goswami said: "The transport department has provided a link on its website under the caption e-authorization card."
