Now, report unauthorised constructions online
Facility now in NDMC areas, complainant can keep track of action taken.
If you own a shop or residential property in an NDMC area and are planning to undertake unauthorised construction, beware, as you are likely to get caught.
Your neighbour can now report any unauthorised construction to the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and also keep tab of the action taken.
NDMC has started a facility, under which any unauthorised construction in its area can be reported online.

Moreover, the process will keep track, and inform the complainant of each step right from registration of the complaint to its disposal.
Apart from plush areas such as Khan Market, Golf Links, Malcha Marg and PR road, private properties in NDMC area are spread across Jor Bagh, Connaught Place, Baba Khadak Singh Marg and Gole Market.
The NDMC hopes to tackle unauthorised construction in VIP areas that is spilling on to roads through this facility.
When a person reports any unauthorised complaint online, he will be asked for his mobile number besides other details, about his own and the property in question. He will be given a number, through which he can keep track of the complaint.
Once the complaint is lodged, the concerned JE of the area will go and take pictures of the property. The further course of action will be decided after that.
“The idea is to make the entire process transparent… right from reporting the unauthorised construction by the complainant to the disposal/action taken,” said Amit Prasad, NDMC director (public relations).
But won’t asking for the complainant’s mobile number deter him? “In that case, the complainant can always give factual information about the property in question and put in his friend’s number,” the officer said.
