The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) had invited opinions from the public for its mid-term review of the Master Plan of Delhi (MPD) 2021.
If your suggestions or objections is one of the nearly 4,500 that DDA has received, you will be able to track the status through a special software DDA plans to launch next month.
“The software will be linked to the DDA website from April and those who had given suggestions will be able to track its status through the software,” said a senior DDA official.
“The idea was to make the review of the MPD 2021 completely transparent and allow greater public participation,” he said.
The software — Master Plan of Delhi 2021 Review Suggestion Management System — aims to integrate and create a database of the whole process of giving shape to the suggestions received by DDA. The review process is expected to be completed by July.
The suggestions received by DDA, including those that came up during open sessions in each zone, were moved to management action groups that scrutinised them and moved them to the advisory group chaired by L-G Tejendra Khanna.
Suggestions have come from individuals, organisations and resident welfare associations.
“As of now, 40 suggestions have already been approved for amendments in the MPD. The process is still on and each one of the 4,500 suggestions is being discussed,” he said.
“Those who had provided suggestions would be given a user ID and password to access the software. They can find out which management group discussed it and how it moved to the next level and got rejected or selected,” he said.
“Many suggestions were pertinent and are being considered. A lot of them were too area-specific or even irrelevant,” he said.
DDA spokesperson Neemo Dhar confirmed that the software has been developed and will be operationalised soon but declined to give a specific date.
