A day after the incident, Delhi Police investigators are clueless about who murdered Pawan Nangia's 34-year-old wife and six-year-old son at their west Patel Nagar residence in central Delhi on Friday.
"We are investigating all possible angles and questioning suspects rounded-up after being identified by the complainant," said Jaspal Singh, DCP (central).
The incident was reported from 36-year-old Nangia's third-floor residence at 3 a.m. on Friday morning.
"Nangia — a property dealer by profession, was at a party at his office at J-27 since early evening. When he returned home around 2.45 a.m. — he found Anuradha (34) lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen and Cherish lying face-down in the adjacent storeroom," police had said.
According to senior officers, police are yet to stumble upon any 'tangible leads'.
"Based upon the testimony and background provided by Nangia, we have questioned a number of suspects — including his family members, colleagues and business rivals," said a senior police officer from the investigating team.
Police said they were also questioning the Nangias' neighbours.
"That no one saw the assailants entering and/or exiting the Nangia residence is not plausible. We are questioning the neighbours in this regard," the officer said.
Investigators said they were certain that the assailants were known to both the victims.
"The crime scene has various clues in this regard and the fact that there have been no signs of forced entry proves that the perpetrators were known to Anuradha and Cherish," said the officer.
