It was yet another cool day on Tuesday owing to the rainfall and thunderstorm in the past 24 hours.
At 38 degrees Celsius, it was two degrees below the normal mark, the weatherman said.
“The rainfall and the cool wind on Monday caused the temperatures to remain low. It will remain like this for the next 24 hours,” said the duty officer at the Safdarjung met office.
On Tuesday, thanks to the overnight chill, the minimum temperature was 25 degrees Celsius, three degrees less than what is considered normal for this time of the season.
Good news is that the weather is likely to remain like this for the next five days, said the National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting in its five-day forecast for Delhi.
Minus the heat, the usual power cuts were also missing with Delhi registering a modest peak power demand of 3513 megawatts.
“We did not need the cooler or the AC in the afternoon,” said Ashok Kumar (65), a retired schoolteacher in Safdarjung Enclave. “Looks like we may not need the AC for the next few days.”
