The Delhi Traffic Police will impose restrictions on the movement of vehicles on a few central Delhi roads on Saturday, owing to the event — F1 Spirit.
The event, the first Formula 1 race to take place in New Delhi, will commence at 2 pm at Rajpath. “There will be restrictions on traffic movement on several arterial roads from 1 pm till it concludes,” said Satyendra Garg, joint commissioner of police (traffic).
Restrictions will be imposed on Mansingh Road from R/A Akbar Road to R/A Jaswant Singh Place, from R/A Sunehri Masjid and R/A Akbar Road to Maulana Azad Road and R/A Motilal Nehru Place to Janpath, Jaswant Singh Place and R/A Rail Bhawan to Dr Rajendra Prasad Road and from Windsor Place to Janpath.
“Besides, traffic movement will also be affected on Rajpath from C Hexagon to Rafi Marg,” said Garg. Police officials said spectators would have access to the enclosures between Mansingh Road and Rafi Marg, North of Rajpath, and between Rafi Marg and Janpath, South of Rajpath.
As no parking arrangements have been made for spectators, people must make use of public transport, police said.
