Three armed assailants robbed a businessman’s family of cash and valuables worth Rs 11 lakh at Prashant Vihar in outer Delhi on Monday afternoon.
According to police, the incident took place at the house of Keshav Bansal, who deals in crude plastic.
According to the police, Bansal’s wife Lata (38), daughter Varsha (15) and son Deepak (11) were at home when the assailants barged in around 12:30 am. Bansal had left for his factory.
“His wife told us someone rang the door bell. When she opened the door, three men with firearms barged in and bolted the door from inside. They took them hostage at gunpoint and asked them to hand over valuables,” said a senior police officer.
“She handed over the keys and the assailants fled with cash and valuables.”
The officer said after the assailants fled, the victims called up the police.
The police said that they had registered an FIR and were looking into the matter.
