Delhiites are in for an uncomfortable week ahead.
Sunday was the beginning of the scorching week when the maximum temperature touched 39.6 degrees Celsius. It is expected to reach 41 degrees on Monday. The maximum recorded on Sunday was a degree above normal. Glaring sunshine and humidity added to the discomfort of the people.
"We were hoping that the temperatures will not rise very much this year but Sunday's weather had dashed all hopes," said Karan Aggarwal, a Delhi University student, who was hoping for good weather during his semester-end exams.
According to the Weatherman, the coming days are going to be hot and cloudy.
"The temperature during the next four days will hover around 40 degrees Celsius. Thunder storms are expected but there is a little possibility of rains," the Met department said.
