Six arrested for planning armed robbery

The accused were arrested on Saturday when they assembled in Sahdev Singh Park of Multan Nagar in west Delhi's Paschim Vihar to plan a robbery on a bus plying on the Rohtak road, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sharad Aggarwal said in New Delhi.

The arrested were identified as Dharambir (28), Raju (23), Satish (19), Netram (45), Ashok (20) and Kishor (25), Aggarwal said adding that the arrests came following investigations into an input received about the robbery bid.

A country-made firearm with one live cartridge was recovered from Dharambir while a button-activated knife was recovered from Ashok and a knife was recovered from Satish. An autorickshaw, which belongs to Kishor was also recovered from the spot, he said.

Among the arrested, Kishor is the only person who has no criminal cases against him.

Dharambir had been previously involved in four criminal cases while Raju was involved in three. Satish and Netram had been previously involved in two cases each.

Ashok had been previously involved in a criminal case.
