Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Thursday said she shared the Opposition's concern over the problems faced by farmers and they should be discussed.
Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Thursday said she shared the Opposition's concern over the problems faced by farmers and they should be discussed.
"I shared their (opposition) concern for farmers problems," she said adding "Whatever the problem it should be discussed."
She told reporters outside Parliament, "When the session is on it should be discussed in the House and (that is) what the session is meant for."
The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned following the Opposition uproar over sugarcane pricing policy today.
Strongly advocating a discussion, she said "things should be discussed in the House rather than the House be disrupted. It would be better to have discussion."
To a question that allies were saying that they were not consulted before introduction of the Bill, she said "whatever the Bill.... Bill is scheduled" and added that it could be discussed.
