Ruchi Bhuttan's father-in-law has filed a complaint in the DLF City Phase-2 police, alleging that her family had posted derogatory, threatening and lewd remarks on social networking site Facebook.
Ruchi was found dead at her DLF City house on July 4.
Gulshan Kumar Bhuttan, father of prime accused Sumit, said Ruchi's family posted messages like “shoot the husband” and “cut his hands” on Facebook. Gulshan filed a complaint against 16 persons for defaming the Bhuttan family.
“Ruchi's family and friends have been posting messages on Facebook against us and Sumit. They wrote cut his hand so that he knows what physical and mental torture is like. How can they write such things,” rued Gulshan.
Ruchi's sister Preeti Gambhir, however, said nobody can stop people from expressing pain and anger.
“The case can't be influenced by comments on Facebook. I believe in justice, and the fact that people are angry over how my sister was being treated is proof that even her friends knew her pain," said Preeti.
Police said they are investigating the case. Recently, Ruchi's family had launched a campaign on Facebook to garner support. The family has also written to Haryana director general of police RS Dalal claiming police inaction.
Although Ruchi's in-laws claimed it was a suicide, her family suspected foul play and blamed her husband Sumit.
