Finance minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday told the Enforcement Directorate (ED) not to hurt the legitimate investments while probing money laundering cases.
Finance minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday told the Enforcement Directorate (ED) not to hurt the legitimate investments while probing money laundering cases. The minister said the ED should be extremely careful while choosing cases for prosecution under the money laundering law and focus its energies on important ones.
“We must remember that economic activity must not be hindered by mindless investigation and prosecutions. All legitimate trading and investment activity must be fully respected and protected even while we investigate crimes involving money and laundering of money,” he said.
