Delhi Public School, RK Puram, had recently organised ‘The Mathematical Crusade’. The event began with a welcome message by principal Dr DR Saini. The crusade included competitions, which tested the students’ knowledge in mathematics. Dr AmitabhaTripathi, professor of mathematics at IIT Delhi, was the guest of honour. DPS RK Puram bagged the first prize. But as it was the host school, the overall trophy went to DPS Dwarka. The first runner-up was DPS Noida, while the overall second runner-up was Mother’s International School.
ASN senior secondary school, Mayur Vihar, hosted the opening ceremony of ‘Yamuna Wealth Games’ and cultural fest at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium to sensitise students to preserve the river. Inter-school competitions in 23 literary and cultural events and eight sports were also held. Sachdeva Public School, Rohini, was declared the overall winner. Richmond Global School, Paschim Vihar, was the overall runner-up and Bal Bharti School, Pitampura, was declared the overall third prize winner. Diwan Chand, director of education, and Neelam Verma, regional director of education (district east), were the guests of honour. School chairman KL Luthra congratulated parents and students. Principal Sonia Luthra proposed the vote of thanks.
Darbari Lal DAV Model School, Shalimar Bagh, held its annual function at the Talkatora Stadium. Diwan Chand, director of education, was the chief guest. The event was presided over by Justice RN Mittal, president of DAV managing committee and chairman of the school. Neena Kumari, deputy director of education, zone IX, and Dr Nisha Peshin, director public schools and Vinita Shankar, education officer, zone IX, were the guests of honour. School principal Adarsh Kohli proposed the vote of thanks.
DPS, Greater Noida, hosted the event ‘DPS Ki Nanhi Chhaan’, a joint venture between the DPS Society and Nanhi Chhaan Foundation. It aimed at drawing students’ attention towards issues like empowerment of the girl child, and communal harmony. Renu Chaturvedi, principal of DPS Greater Noida, said the best gift a school could give its students was teach them to live in harmony. Arun Maira, member of the Planning Commission was the chief guest.
