Latching on the opportunity to hit the Congress, Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress on Thursday asked the EC to bar Beni Prasad Verma from poll-campaigning in UP.

"First it was Salman Khurshid now it is Beni Prasad talking about reservation for minorities," Trinamool's Sultan Ahmed, also a minister of state in the UPA, said.

Trinamool is contesting in the UP election but many of its candidates' nominations were rejected.

Ahmed, the lone Muslim face of the party in the UPA cabinet, is in charge of Trinamool's campaign in UP.
