"When we requested the minister to give his nod to the master plan, which was approved by the NCRPB, he said he would do it. But we were not ready to relent. We insisted him to do it on Friday itself," said Abhishek Kumar, the president of NEFOWA.

The affected builders too agreed that it was the buyers' fight which clinched the deal.

"They put up a strong fight. Noida Extension will give a much-needed push to the realty sector. All will benefit - farmers, buyers, developers and investors," said Anil Sharma, CMD and chairman of Amrapali Group.

Noida Extension consists of 13 villages such as Khera Chauganpur, Khairpur Gujjar, Tushyana, Amnabad, Shahberi, Saini, Bisrakh, Patwari, Haibatpur, Itaidha, Roja Yakoobpur, Chipyana Khurd and Yusufpur (Chak Shahberi).
