President Pratibha Patil on Friday said that the UN Security Council should be made more representative and international financial institutions stronger.
"The United Nations Security Council needs to be made more representative and international financial institutions more robust," Patil said at a ceremony where five envoys presented their credentials to her.
India seeks to build bridges of friendship with all countries. An effective response to global challenges requires broad based institutions, she said.
Cambodian Ambassador Yous Makana, Ambassador of Poland Piotr Klodkowski, Ambassador of Switzerland Philippe Welti, Romanian Ambassador Valerica Epure and Ambassador of Estonia Merike Kokajev presented their credentials to Patil, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.
The President during her address also highlighted the need for a global partnership to fight against terrorism.
