SC notice to CBI on Reliance Telecom Limited petition

The Supreme Court on Thursday issued notice to the CBI on petitions filed by Reliance Telecom Limited (RTL) and the other accused in 2G spectrum allocation scam asking the court to recall its order barring other courts from hearing matters arising out of it.

A bench headed by Justice GS Singhvi said the issue raised by the accused needs to be heard before taking up their appeals challenging trial court order to summon 13 witnesses including Reliance ADAG Chairman Anil Ambani and his wife Tina Ambani. The two have to appear before the special CBI court on August 22.
