"There is no justification for the vicious murder of innocent people," he said in a statement.

British Justice Minister Jack Straw, who arrived here on a visit this evening, said "I have just learnt about the horrible attacks that have taken place in Delhi... The British government condemns all acts of terrorism."

He said that during his stay here, he would be talking to senior members of Indian government about "how better we can work together to tackle the scourge of terrorism."

Both Straw and Mulford extended, on the behalf of their governments, their deepest sympathies to the injured and families of the victims.
