The veterinary varsity recently got a nod from the state animal husbandry department to fill the seats under the state quota for the course through AIPVT. The proposal was mooted by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) in September last year.

“The admission to veterinary and animal husbandry course from the next academic session will be done through AIPVT,” varsity’s officiating vice chancellor SNS Parmar told HT.

As practice, the admission to the state quota seats in veterinary colleges in MP was done through the Pre-Veterinary Test, conducted by the Professional Examination Board, Bhopal, formerly known as VYAPAM.

Three veterinary colleges are affiliated to the Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, one each in Jabalpur, Mhow and Rewa. There are a total of 255 seats in three veterinary colleges at the graduation level, including 201 seats under state quota, 36 seats under all-India quota and 18 seats under NRI quota.

The PEB will continue to conduct the admission test for admission to 33 seats in the bachelor course in fisheries course.
