“JAC had recommended 1871 candidates for interview but after counselling 1679 were selected,” said Manish Ranjan, director, secondary education, The CM asked the recruits to make the rural, government schools into model ones.

He said till November 15 this year, over 40,000 posts of teachers will be filled.

As of now, there are 15,000 vacancies in 2,248 high schools in the state, said HRD officials.

There are various categories of high schools such as, government, government aided and upgraded high schools. They all follow different process for recruitment.

The state plans to bring all the high schools under one regulatory body for fast recruitment of teachers, said officials.
