It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Jadeja Dharmendrasinh Merubha (HAKUBHA) comfortably winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's Ahir Jivanbhai Karubhai Kumbharvadiya by a huge margin of 40,963 votes.
90.2% of votes were split between top 2 candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Jadeja Dharmendrasinh Merubha (HAKUBHA) secured a total of 84,327 votes, while Indian National Congress's Ahir Jivanbhai Karubhai Kumbharvadiya got 43,364 votes. Independent candidate Gujaratisurya Kamleshbhai Laxmanbhai grabbed 4,047 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 59.6%, 30.6% and 2.9% respectively.
