In 2017, 10 candidates were competing for Majura assembly constituency seat. Majura was one of 99 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Harsh Rameshkumar Sanghavi comfortably winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's Kothari Ashok Mohanlal by a huge margin of 85,827 votes.
98.2% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Harsh Rameshkumar Sanghavi got a total of 1,16,741 votes, while Indian National Congress's Kothari Ashok Mohanlal got 30,914 votes. Shiv Sena's candidate Vyas Jigar Ashokbhai grabbed 539 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 77.6%, 20.6% and 0.4% respectively.
