It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Patel Vivek Narottambhai comfortably winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Patel Satishbhai Champakbhai by a huge margin of 42,528 votes.
94.8% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Patel Vivek Narottambhai got a total of 87,884 votes, while Indian National Congress's Patel Satishbhai Champakbhai got 45,356 votes. Shiv Sena's candidate Vilas Subhash Patil grabbed 2,901 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 62.5%, 32.3% and 2.1% respectively.
