Heingang (GEN) comes under the Imphal district and it is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Heingang (GEN) voted for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the results was declared on March 10.
Heingang (GEN) assembly constituency had 30,459 electors in 2017, out of which 14,769 were male voters and 15,690 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.

It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janta Party's Nongthombam Biren Singh winning the election upstaging All India Trinamool Congress's Pangeijam Saratchandra Singh by a margin of just 1,206 votes.
99.0% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janta Party's Nongthombam Biren Singh grabbed a total of 10,439 votes, while All India Trinamool Congress's Pangeijam Saratchandra Singh got 9,233 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Naoroibam Ratan Meetei (KAPU) bagged 7,329 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 38.3%, 33.9% and 26.9% respectively.
In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's N. Biren outperformed Nationalist Congress Party's Naoroibam Ratan Kapu Meetei by 2,082 votes.
