Indian National Congress's Bharat Bhushan (ASHU) grabbed a total of 66,627 votes, while Aam Aadmi Party's Ahbaab Singh Grewal got 30,106 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Kamal Chatly bagged 22,620 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 54.9%, 24.8% and 18.6% respectively.
In Punjab Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Bharat Bhushan Ashu defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Prof. Rajinder Bhandari by 35,922 votes.
