Bansgaon is the assembly constituency which comes under the Gorakhpur district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Bansgaon will be held on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.
Bansgaon assembly constituency had 3,70,743 electors in 2017, out of which 2,06,951 were male voters and 1,63,792 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 8 candidates in the fray from Bansgaon constituency. Bansgaon was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Vimlesh Paswan won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Dharmendra Kumar by a margin of 22,873 votes.
The top three candidates split 93.5% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Vimlesh Paswan got a total of 71,966 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Dharmendra Kumar secured 49,093 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Sharada Devi grabbed the third spot with 44,051 votes. The top three parties got 40.7%, 27.8% and 24.9% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Dr. Vijay Kumar beat Samajwadi Party's Sharda Devi by 8,346 votes.
