Menhdawal comes under the S. Kabir Nagar district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Menhdawal voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 4,38,437 registered voters for Menhdawal assembly seat, out of which 2,41,717 were male and 1,96,720 were female voters. 0.6% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 12 candidates in the fray from Menhdawal constituency. Menhdawal was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Rakesh Singh Baghel won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Anil Kumar Tripathi by a margin of 42,914 votes.
The top three candidates split 75.9% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Rakesh Singh Baghel got a total of 86,976 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Anil Kumar Tripathi secured 44,062 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Jaichand Alias Jairam Pandey grabbed the third spot with 37,557 votes. The top three parties got 39.2%, 19.8% and 16.9% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Laxmikant defeated Peace Party's Anil Kumar by 16,073 votes.
