Ram Nagar comes under the Barabanki district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Ram Nagar voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
Ram Nagar assembly constituency had 3,26,183 electors in 2017, out of which 1,76,605 were male voters and 1,49,578 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 14 candidates in the fray from Ram Nagar constituency. Ram Nagar was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sharad Kumar Awasthi won the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Arvinda Kumar Singh 'gope' by a margin of 22,727 votes.
94.6% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sharad Kumar Awasthi grabbed a total of 88,937 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Arvinda Kumar Singh 'gope' got 66,210 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Hafeez Bharti bagged 53,891 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 40.2%, 30.0% and 24.4% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Arvind Kumar Singh #gop# defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Amresh Kumar by 32,224 votes.
