Uttar Pradesh Election: Shrawasti Assembly Constituency 2022
Shrawasti is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Shrawasti district. People of Shrawasti voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,80,711 registered voters for Shrawasti assembly seat, out of which 2,03,842 were male and 1,76,869 were female voters. 1.1% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 14 candidates in the fray from Shrawasti constituency. Shrawasti was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was an extremely close fight, with Bharatiya Janata Party's Ram Feran narrowly winning the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Mohd. Ramzan by a slim margin of 445 votes.
The top three candidates split 89.0% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ram Feran got a total of 79,437 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Mohd. Ramzan secured 78,992 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Subhash grabbed the third spot with 53,014 votes. The top three parties got 33.5%, 33.3% and 22.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Muhammad Ramjan defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Vinod Tripathi by 11,205 votes.
