Uttarakhand Election: Haldwani Assembly Constituency 2022
Haldwani is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Nainital district. People of Haldwani voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
Haldwani assembly constituency had 1,39,644 electors in 2017, out of which 74,378 were male voters and 65,266 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.
In the 2017 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election, there were 8 candidates in the fray from Haldwani constituency. Haldwani was one of 11 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Indira Hridayesh won the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Jogendra Pal Singh Rautela by a margin of 6,557 votes.
The top three candidates split 97.7% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Indira Hridayesh got a total of 43,786 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Jogendra Pal Singh Rautela secured 37,229 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Shoeb Ahmed grabbed the third spot with 10,337 votes. The top three parties got 46.8%, 39.8% and 11.1% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Indira Hridyesh beat Bharatiya Janata Party's Renu Adhikari by 23,583 votes.
