Uttarakhand Election: Jaspur Assembly Constituency 2022
Jaspur is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Udham Singh Nagar district. People of Jaspur voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
Jaspur assembly constituency had 1,15,782 electors in 2017, out of which 62,728 were male voters and 53,054 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Jaspur constituency had 10 candidates for assembly seat contention. Jaspur was one of 11 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a close contest with Indian National Congress's Adesh Singh Chauhan winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Shailendra Mohan Singhal by a margin of just 4,204 votes.
The top two candidates split 88.7% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Adesh Singh Chauhan got a total of 42,551 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Shailendra Mohan Singhal secured 38,347 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Mohammad Umar secured 8,666 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 46.7%, 42.1% and 9.5% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Dr. Shailendra MohanSinghal outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Mohammad Umar by 2,780 votes.
