Uttarakhand Election: Kaladhungi Assembly Constituency 2022
Kaladhungi is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Nainital district. People of Kaladhungi voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Kaladhungi assembly seat had 1,47,687 registered voters. Of the, 76,525 were male and 71,162 were female voters. 0.8% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Kaladhungi constituency had 9 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 57 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Kaladhungi was one of them. The election for Kaladhungi seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Bansidhar Bhagat defeating Indian National Congress's Prakash Joshi by a huge margin of 20,597 votes.
The top three candidates split 90.4% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Bansidhar Bhagat secured a total of 45,704 votes, while Indian National Congress's Prakash Joshi got 25,107 votes. Independent candidate Mahesh Chandra bagged 20,214 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 45.4%, 24.9% and 20.1% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Banshidhar Bhagat defeated Indian National Congress's Prakash Joshi by 2,370 votes.
