Mussoorie is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Dehradun district. People of Mussoorie voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2017, there were 1,30,287 registered voters for Mussoorie assembly seat, out of which 69,017 were male and 61,270 were female voters. 0.5% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In 2017, 12 candidates were contesting for Mussoorie assembly constituency seat. Mussoorie was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ganesh Joshi won the election by defeating Indian National Congress's Godawari Thapli by a margin of 12,077 votes.
The top two candidates split 94.2% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ganesh Joshi got a total of 41,322 votes, while Indian National Congress's Godawari Thapli secured 29,245 votes. Independent candidate Rajkumar Jaiswal secured 1,692 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 55.1%, 39.0% and 2.3% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Ganesh Joshi defeated Indian National Congress's Jot Singh Gunsola by 9,776 votes.
