The top two candidates split 96.4% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Prakash Pant got a total of 32,941 votes, while Indian National Congress's Mayukh Mahar secured 30,257 votes. Independent candidate Lalit Mohan Bhatt secured 613 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 50.2%, 46.1% and 0.9% respectively.
In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Mayukh Singh beat Bharatiya Janata Party's Prakash Pant by 13,197 votes.
