Uttarakhand Election: Pratapnagar Assembly Constituency 2022

Pratapnagar is the assembly constituency which comes under the Tehri Garhwal district. It is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 for Pratapnagar was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

Pratapnagar assembly constituency had 80,671 electors in 2017, out of which 41,379 were male voters and 39,292 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.7% votes.

What happened last time

In the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Pratapnagar constituency had 9 candidates for assembly seat contention. Pratapnagar was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Vijay Singh Panwar(GUDDU BHAI) winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Vikram Singh Negi by a margin of just 1,939 votes.

The top three candidates split 82.8% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Vijay Singh Panwar(GUDDU BHAI) got a total of 15,058 votes, while Indian National Congress's Vikram Singh Negi secured 13,119 votes. Indian Business Party's candidate Rajeshwar Prasad Painuly grabbed the third spot with 5,594 votes. The top three parties got 36.9%, 32.2% and 13.7% respectively.

In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Vikram Singh Negi defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Vijay Singh by 542 votes.
