Uttarakhand Election: Rudrapur Assembly Constituency 2022

Rudrapur is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Udham Singh Nagar district. Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 for Rudrapur was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

What happened last time

In the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Rudrapur constituency had 11 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 57 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rudrapur was one of them. The election for Rudrapur seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajkumar Thukral defeating Indian National Congress's Tilak Raj Behar by a huge margin of 24,771 votes.

The top two candidates split 97.1% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajkumar Thukral got a total of 68,754 votes, while Indian National Congress's Tilak Raj Behar secured 43,983 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Jaswant Singh secured 1,471 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 59.2%, 37.9% and 1.3% respectively.

In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Raj Kumar Thukral beat Indian National Congress's Tilak Raj Behar by 3,954 votes.
