A former model has sued JetBlue after its supervisor threw her out of a Florida-bound flight on the grounds that she was not wearing knickers.
Malinda Knowles, 27, accused the supervisor of putting a walkie-talkie in between her legs to discover what she wearing under her baggy T-shirt.
Knowles, a Harlem financial consultant, further claimed in a lawsuit that she was left “humiliated” by the worker when he demanded to see if she was wearing underwear, before escorting her off the flight.
“He said, ‘I don’t want to see your panties or anything but do you have any on?’” the Daily Mail quoted Knowles as telling the New York Daily News.
“I didn’t want to show him anything. He wanted me to basically show him my crotch. I was completely humiliated. It was vulgar. It was macho. It was rude,” she stated.
Knowles revealed that though she was wearing a pair of dark denim shorts under the T-shirt during last a flight from LaGuardia Airport last year, she was taken to a hangar to prove she met the dress code.
However, despite the presence of the shorts she had to abort the flight, as the pilot refused to fly with her onboard.
Her lawyer, Brian Dratch, is seeking unspecified damages in the civil claim that accuses the airline worker of assault and battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress, the website reported.
