Cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who was in the Capital on Friday, has reacted sharply to the growing rate of crime against women in the country, especially in light of the recent gang rape in Mumbai. “There are many effective campaigns for women’s safety but the point is that every individual needs to respect women a lot more,” says the 31-year-old.
On another note, when asked about his father Yograj Singh’s performance in the movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (he played the role of the Indian coach, Ranveer Singh), Yuvraj says, “I haven’t seen the film yet but I have heard great reviews about my dad’s work in the film.” He goes on to add with a hint of nostalgia, “He has made Farhan (Akhtar) run the same way he used to make me run. So, it would be fun to watch it.”
Yuvraj had also recently tweeted that Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun’s batting reminds him of his younger days. “He is very passionate about the game just like his father. He is doing really well for his age and will hopefully shine like his father,” says Yuvi about the 13-year-old.
