Shreyas Talpade has been bringing a Ganesh idol home for the past seven years and, this time too, he is excited to take part in the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. As he is looking forward to performing puja at home and inviting his friends and family over, like every year, he has even made a special request to the makers of his next, Bhaiyyaji Superhit, to move his shooting dates.

While Shreyas was supposed to shoot on Ganesh Chaturthi (September 9), he has now been allowed to be with his family during the celebrations. “We bring Bappa to our place for two days. So, I don’t work at all on those days. As, the festival falls on September 9 and 10 this year, I have asked the makers of Bhaiyyaji Superhit to postpone my shooting schedule. They have also agreed to my request and I’m happy that I will be a part of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration with my family in Mumbai,” says Shreyas.

The actor also adds that he makes it a point to not miss the revelry any year. “I never miss being with Bappa during Ganesh Chaturthi. It so happened that long back when I was doing theatre, I missed a celebration. And unfortunately, that year didn’t turn out to be very good for me. Since then I have made it a point to welcome Bappa and celebrate the festival every year. Honestly, I have been a little superstitious about it,” adds the actor.
