Known for cleverly interweaving recycled plastics, industrial waste, etc. in innovative weaves and designs, designer Amit Aggarwal is all-consumed in preparing for his debut at Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance presents India Couture Week.

“Science and mathematics play a crucial in what we do. [Following a] natural process is the core for us as biomimicry (the design and production of materials, structures, and systems that are modelled on biological entities and processes) is now our signature style. In this collection, we have put together molecules that form a unit, and units put together form a crystal. So our collection is called Crystalis, as crystals are what we have put together in the collection,” says the designer, adding, “We have also collaborated with designer Tanira Sethi and sourced 100% Kashmiri lace from her for a capsule collection.”

About his expectations from Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance presenting the India Couture Week this time, he says, “Participating at the couture week has always been a dream. Since that platform allows you to express your voice on design in its purest form.”
