This season, drape the saree in a way that brings out the best in you. Add some interesting twists this season by draping in different styles.

Well, it’s no news that the sari has got a glam makeover. From the love-hate relationship with the ‘sari gown’ to sporty revamps and ditching the petticoat for a pair of denims, there’s a big pool of choice.

But what about keeping the drape simple, and bringing in drama with the help of the pallu? At the recently-concluded fashion week in the Capital, there was a lot of inspiration for the festive season.

From drama-infused, floor-grazing versions to sexy n’ sheer — what’s going to be your pick?

1. GO SHORT

At designer Anavila Misra’s show, rich handlooms added all the lustre to her drapes. And, one idea we loved was the super-short and super practical pallu. If you want to focus on the fabric of your drape, let your pallu be crisp and aligned, and keep the part that fall behinds stylishly short. Get that inspo going, ladies!

2. PALLUTRAIN

There’s nothing more dreamy than a calming white drape. And, as much as your mother told you not to sweep the floor with the pallu, we’ve gotten the trailing train, runway approved. Bring that wedding gown train to your ethnicwear and make your pallu stand out. Of course, high heels are a must.

3. SHEERFUN

From being drenched in layers of shimmer-studded fabric to buttery, featherweight pallus that bring in a fun tease, the sheer pallu has been making quite the statement. Keep the see-through style occasion-perfect to ace the contemporary look.

4. GET KNOTTY

A great way to add a fun twist to an otherwise understated drape. Designer Vaishali celebrates Indian textiles and the styling adds just that little element of fun to this monochrome sari with dull gold accents. A pallu knotted just at the shoulder helps show off the blouse. You can also add a statement accessory to the knot.
