As many as 24 people, including four women, were arrested from an alleged party being held at a farmhouse in DLF Phase 1 police station area, police said on Monday.
After receiving a complaint about loud disco jockey (DJ) music being played, a police team led by assistant commissioner of police (ACP), Mamta Kharab, reached the spot -- Silent Trail Farm house -- in Baliawas village around 2:30 am on Monday. Though 24 people were arrested, many managed to flee, police said. Police also seized 30 gram cannabis and liquor from the spot.
“The raid was conducted after we received information from some citizens living in the vicinity of the farm house. We arrested 20 men and four women present at the party,” Amit Kumar, station house officer (SHO) DLF Phase 1 police station, said.
Most of the arrested are from Delhi and the rest are from Gurgaon, Kumar said.
The farmhouse, police said, is owned by a man named Vikram Dutta, and the party was announced through an online advertisement by event manager Sunil Lamba.
After the arrests, police registered two FIRs at the DLF Phase 1 police station. One FIR was registered against the 24 people under section 160 (committing affray) and another against Sunil Lamba under The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
“The cannabis (ganja) was recovered from Sunil Lamba who is Delhi-based event manager who organises parties,” assistant-sub inspector, Razzak Khan, the investigating officer, said.
After being produced before a court, the accused were released on bail, police said.
On April 9, 30 students, including five girls, of reputed Gurgaon schools and colleges were detained following a joint raid by police and excise department at an upmarket pub on Gurgaon’s MG Road.
On December 25, police held 44 youngsters, including four girls, during an alleged party being held on Christmas eve at a farmhouse in Manesar.
