Theatre lovers in the city can enjoy a hilarious treat as a Mumbai-based troupe will start staging a unique musical comedy drama from next month. The new show, ‘Jhumroo’ will begin at Nautanki Mahal in the Kingdom of Dreams from April 7.
The vibrant song and dance drama, dedicated to the Bollywood’s legendary singer Kishore Kumar, includes different tunes of the late actor-singer and some special effects to tell a humorous story.
The story is communicated through words and the iconic music of Kishore Kumar. The show is presented and produced by Wizcraft International Entertainment and Apra Group's joint Venture company, Great Indian Nautanki Company.
Gaurav Gera, who has many popular television shows and Bollywood movies in his credit, plays the male lead character Bhola, a 25-year-old man who aspires to become a singing idol.
Shweta Gulati, who became popular from television shows like Remix and Dill Mill Gayye, plays the female lead character Meena. She is a simple girl with a little sense of humor and has some interest in music. How Bhola achieves his dreams is a simple tale with a little bit of magic that will make the audience fall in love with him.
With an exclusive compilation of 20 popular songs of Kishore Kumar, the show will captivate audiences with its story line.
“Kishore da is close to my heart and this show gives us a chance to pay my tribute to him,” said actor Gaurav Gera.
