They practice what they preach. To drive home the message of ‘Save Fuel Stay Healthy’ among the public, a team of cycle enthusiasts would set out on an expedition on Saturday.
The cycling group – T3 – has its members drawn from all walks of life. In the expedition, 25 cyclists from various parts of the country and would take part. They would also visit historically important places like Agra and Fatehpur Sikri.
Most of the members are well-settled in their lives. Now, they want to do something for the society. Manas Arvind, founder-member of the group, said, “Burn fat not fuel. We could save litres of oil if we switch to cycles even for a day. Besides, it is healthy practice too. Cycling is our passion but now it is our mission.”
The journey would be flagged off from Sector 29 and would end at Fatehpur Sikri.
Meenal Kukreja, 22, said, “Cycling has been my favourite pastime. And when I came to know that they pedal for a cause, I decided to join the group.”
According to group members, people should be encouraged to use cycles. They want the authorities to provide special infrastructural facilities to cyclists to inspire more people to use cycles.
