Gurugram man arrested for slapping girlfriend at pizza parlour

A 30-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon for allegedly slapping his girlfriend, while eating pizza at a fast-food chain in the city. The couple allegedly had an argument over their marriage, police said.

A 30-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon for allegedly slapping his girlfriend, while eating pizza at a fast-food chain in the city. The couple allegedly had an argument over their marriage, police said.

The incident took place on Sunday afternoon while the accused and his 26-year-old girlfriend were at an eatery in Sector 22. An FIR was registered on Tuesday, after the woman filed a complaint. The accused was arrested later in the day, informed Vikram Nehra,SHO, Palam Vihar police station.

The FIR was filed under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. “He abused me and slapped me. He even threatened to kill me. He that he would not allow me to get married,” the woman complained in the FIR.

The accused, on the other hand, told the police that they were in a relationship and he wanted to marry her, but she refused and that led to the argument. “The accused is under police custody and will be produced in court today,” the police officer said.
